Car Problems!!!!!!!!!!!!?

ok so the other day i was driving on the highway and heard a wierd sound and my sterring wheel started shaking like crazy. i pulled over got out of my car and looked at the drivers side tire and three out of four of my lug nuts snapped off along with my studs!!! i ended up gettin my car towed home and bought four new studs as well as four new lug nuts and had them changed. I started driving it again for about twenty minutes and parked. got out and for some reason touched the lug nuts and it almost burned my hand off, i checked the passenger wheel and it was warm but not as hot. all the other wheels were normal so my question is, is what is causing my lug nuts to be scorching hot and does it have anything to do with my wheel almost comin off? im sure its related but im not mechanically inclined. i have no idea whats going on. any feedback is greatly appreciated. and by the way i have a 1989 honda civic hatchback if that helps.
